Hi, I’m Maigen Thomas and I’m building Level 11 Technology, an Apprenticeship Agency.

At Level 11 Technology, we offer website accessibility and usability evaluations to help any size organization identify the website accessibility barriers that leave them vulnerable to digital accessibility lawsuits.

I believe these evaluations will raise the collective consciousness of designers and developers to be more aware of accessibility, simply because so many of us will be focusing on the same thing at the same time.

An Apprenticeship Agency

I'm building Level 11 Technology as an Apprenticeship Agency, where I will pay early-career designers, developers, digital marketers (all the digital technology jobs, eventually) to get their first year of experience. I want this organization to be a “teaching hospital” where these folks who have invested in themselves and their education get professional development and real mentorship while doing hands-on, industry-recognized work. They will graduate from Level 11 and be valuable, skilled employees or prepared to deliver exceptional freelance work.

The Process

For the last 9 months I've been conducting dozens of website evaluations for accessibility and usability, primarily to get the reps in, but also to refine my process. This refined evaluation process is the basis of the book I'm writing, called "Practical UX" which will be published with Mercury Learning, an imprint of De Gruyter, and released in February 2025.
